About Me
Who I am
I am a software/analytics engineer with experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Python. I have built full-stack applications from scratch and implemented complex analytics tracking foundations for clients from all around the world.
When I am not working I enjoy playing video games with friends, practicing various instruments, and going to concerts in the Live Music Capitol of the World.
My Education
I come from a non-traditional tech background. I obtained a bachelor of arts in Philosophy from the University of Texas at Austin. I then went on to earn a Masters of Science from Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. After spending two years working in suicide prevention I decided to make the transition into the tech world. I then completed an online software engineering bootcamp through Springboard, and landed my current position six months later.
My experience
In my software engineering boot camp, I learned the foundations of building full-stack web applications. I created two different web applications utilizing different technologies from scratch. This included:
- Designing database schemas
- Writing all web routes using RESTful practices
- Integrating with third-party API's
- Designing intuitive front-end interfaces
With that foundation in place I was able to land a job as an Analytics Engineer. In this position I been able to gain direct industry experience that includes:
- Working productively with clients, internal teams, and third-party vendors
- Implementing large scale analytics tracking technologies for enterprise clients
- Building internal tools with Javascript and Python to help automate and streamline manual practices.
